We invite anyone who is interested to participate in a Lenten Prayer Partner ministry. This includes children and adults, members and friends, those who are able to attend worship and those who are not.
Here is how it works: If you wish to participate, you will be given the name of one other person, your “Prayer
Partner.” You keep this name secret throughout Lent and commit to the following:
1. Pray for this person every day during Lent.
2. Send this person a note of encouragement at least once during Lent, more often if you choose, reminding them you are praying for them. Since your identity is to remain secret, the notes may simply be signed “Your prayer partner.”
3. Reveal your identity to your prayer partner on Easter. This may be done in person, if you plan to worship with us on Easter, or it may be done in the form of a note that is signed by you, but may not be opened until Easter.
At the same time, someone else who has received your name will be praying for you. If you wish to participate, please fill out the form in the bulletin this Sunday, or contact the church office (308-432-5408.) Please respond by February 15th. Please include your address when signing up so that we are sure where to send notes. Prayer partner
assignments will be made the week of Ash Wednesday.
The Immanuel Lutheran Church Wednesday School, Confirmation Class and the Congregation recently raised over $330 for ELCA World Hunger with our Piggy Banks! The youth started this project about a month ago by each bringing a piggy bank home. And with their great efforts as well as with the help of congregation members we will be able to purchase 11 pigs to go to families in need through the ELCA World Hunger program! Great Job!
The Immanuel Lutheran Quilters have again proven their talents. The quilts they made this year were dedicated on Sunday, November 2nd, and the church’s sanctuary looked magnificent with its pews
decorated by the 119 quilts they created in the last year.
These quilts will be shipped off with other quilts from around the country to Lutheran World Relief where they will be distributed to those in need world wide.
This year we will be tracking our quilts as they make their journey around the world and are excited to see just where they will end up.
Great Job Quilters!
God’s Work. Our Hands. Sunday was held last Sunday, the 7th of September. There was a wonderful turnout and much work was done to help individuals in our congregation and the community. Check out these great pictures of the service we completed.

The 2014 version of “God’s Work, Our Hands” Weekend will be held Sept. 6-7.
The special weekend is an opportunity to celebrate who we are as the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America — one church, freed in Christ to serve and love our neighbor. Congregations are encouraged again this year to use the weekend to serve communities in ways that share the love of God with all of God’s people.
Immanuel Lutheran will be participating in this activity after service on the 7th of September. If you would like to be a part of this service project or know of someone that we could serve on that day, please contact the church office at (308) 432-5408 or email us at email@example.com.
